Sundays generally mean one thing to me and that is cleaning duties for Mistress Adira and this Sunday was no exception! Mistress required Her maid at 2.30pm and as it was still cold on the Gold Coast i was able to wear my black hobble "winter" uniform! After Mistress Adira laced up my fabulous uniform and corset Mistress Adira made Her mind up as to what apron i would wear today - short white apron - making me look and feel very demure Mistress! i was now dressed and as Mistress Adira says, "no time to waste girl - get to work." What profound words they are for a maid as i set about doing task after glorious task until all my tasks are completed!

Mistress Adira had a basketful of washing waiting to be hung but before i could do that i had some dry laundry to bring in from outside first! After completing the collecting of the laundry from outside i was just about to collect my basketful of wet laundry and head outside when Mistress Adira stopped me in my tracks and pulled out a pair of track suit pants! Mistress then proceeded to show me in a very clear and precise manner as to how She required Her track suit pants to be hung! i felt about 3 feet tall as Mistress Adira treated me like i knew nothing and whilst it was very humiliating to be treated like that, Mistress was in fact correct as i do know nothing about domestic chores and whenever i am given a new task e.g. hanging track suit pants, i do need detailed instructions as to how i should do my task correctly!

Feeling suitably humiliated at my own lack of knowledge i had no time to mope around and feel sorry for myself as i had work to do. Wet laundry does not hang by itself Mistress so i then set about hanging the wet laundry! Remembering what Mistress Adira had said about hanging Her track suit pants, i carried out Her instructions to the letter (or at least i hoped i did). When i finished i returned inside to complete my laundry duties of folding the dry laundry!

After i completed folding the dry laundry i reappeared before Mistress Adira awaiting my next task when Mistress announced that She would just check on Her track suit pants to make sure they had been hung correctly! How humiliating to have my work inspected when i was just given specific instructions only 20 minutes earlier but humiliation is part of the job as a maid. Mistress Adira will always be checking my work whether in a formal type inspection or a subtle inspection!

i was now busy working away in the kitchen washing dishes when Mistress Adira advised my next few tasks would be cleaning the microwave and then the stove top and switches! Whilst doing my dishes Mistress Adira advised that She was going out for a while to collect Her daughter and i would be left alone to continue on with my cleaning. After completing the dishes i turned to the microwave oven and after filling my nostrils with the wonderful smell of vanilla, i was on a roll and moving on to my next task of cleaning the oven switches and stove top! i had just begun cleaning the stove top when Mistress Adira returned with Her daughter and after a few minutes Mistress came to check on my progress! i had just covered the stove top with oven cleaner and was just starting to scrape away with the razor when Mistress Adira was not happy with what She saw! i was not cleaning the stove top in accordance with Mistress Adira's instructions. i did not use the razor to scrape away the dirt and grime until AFTER i had wiped, wiped and wiped as much of the dirt and grime away with paper towel! i was shocked at having to be corrected by Mistress over my cleaning actions. It has been a very long time since Mistress Adira has felt compelled to offer advice about how i was performing my cleaning duties!

i was in a mild state of shock at my failing and then humiliation as Mistress Adira made sure that i NOW understood how to clean the stove top. Mistress, yes Mistress, Your maid now has it very clearly in her mind the process of cleaning the stove top Mistress! How could such a beautiful day turn into such disaster Mistress? Doing cleaning duties on a Sunday afternoon is normally fun Mistress but today was not fun. i was not for whatever reason having a good day Mistress! Cleaning the stove top takes quite a long time and effort but it is a magnificent site when it is a shiny and sparkling black ceramic top once again Mistress. It certainly does come up well Mistress, looking almost brand new Mistress!

my fingers were quite tired now after all the constant scrubbing so i was hoping my next task would not involve more scrubbing and luckily for me it was vacuuming! By the time i had finished the vacuuming it was now after 5.00pm. Two and a half hours had passed and i was beginning to wonder if vacuuming would be my last cleaning duty for the afternoon but no, Mistress Adira had one more task for me to do! Mistress Adira's huge queen size bed needed to have the linen changed. What a difficult task it is for a maid in a hobble skirt Mistress! May as well try and gain as much fun as i could from such a task so i ripped off the dirty sheets with great vigour and then set about making Mistress Adira's bed! As i turned the sheet back to finish my task i went white with fear - my confidence had been shattered from my failing to clean the stove top in the correct manner that i thought i had made a mistake with the sheet!

Mistress Adira has sheets that are patterned and require to be made inside out so that when it is turned down, the pattern appears on top! For some reason i began to doubt myself as only a maid can do. Had i mucked up yet again? The thought of having to make the bed again was sickening but after checking the sheet 3 times, i had convinced myself that i had in fact made the bed correctly, or at least i hoped i had Mistress! With a bit of luck Mistress Adira would not want to conduct an inspection. What was i thinking? Of course Mistress Adira was going to conduct an inspection and Mistress could not wait to inspect my effort and the first thing Mistress Adira checked was the sheet to make sure it was facing the correct way! Phew, luckily for me i passed Mistress' thorough inspection. my cleaning duties had finished on a good note for me Mistress!

It was a very interesting day for Your maid constantly having Her work inspected Mistress. Is this going to be an ongoing feature for Your maid Mistress or was it just a gentle reminder to Your maid that cleaning duties are only to be done in accordance with Your instructions and to the standard You demand Mistress? The thought of failure is always a good motivator for Your maid as no maid ever wants to have to repeat a cleaning task Mistress!
